Ahoy, Parrotheads! April isn’t just about flip-flops and frozen concoctions—it’s also a time to reflect on how we live out one of our most important missions: Partying with a Purpose. While we may be known for our tiki torches, steel drums, and sun-soaked gatherings, we’re also a community that believes in giving back where it counts.

This month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on our 2025 Donation Day, where the Inland Empire Parrothead Club continues its commitment to supporting local organizations that are making waves in our community. Through your generosity, participation in our PHundraisers, and unwavering Parrothead spirit, we’re thrilled to be giving back to three incredible causes right here in North Idaho.

Founded in honor of SPC Nicholas Newby, Newby-ginnings of North Idaho is a non-profit organization that provides essential resources and household goods—free of charge—to veterans, active service members, and Gold Star families.

What makes Newby-ginnings truly special is its peer-supported, no-judgment environment. From clothing and furniture to emotional support and camaraderie, this organization ensures no veteran in our region feels forgotten or alone. It’s a place for healing, hope, and human connection—and we’re proud to support it.

Canopy: Children’s Mental Health Support

Canopy is a community-based mental health program focused on providing trauma-informed care for children and families in North Idaho. Their services support children navigating the emotional aftermath of trauma, helping them build resilience, develop positive relationships, and feel safe again.

Through wraparound services, in-home support, and youth programs, Canopy helps families stay together while ensuring that children have the tools they need to heal and thrive. Their work touches some of the most vulnerable lives in our community—and with your support, we’re helping to provide stability, healing, and a brighter future.

The Sons of the American Legion – Post 143 is a vital part of the American Legion Family in Post Falls, Idaho. Their mission is to honor and support the service of veterans, uphold American traditions and values, and give back to the community through youth outreach, scholarship programs, and public service projects.

At Post 143, the Sons work hand in hand with veterans and the American Legion Auxiliary to foster patriotism, remembrance, and fellowship. From raising funds for local needs to organizing community events and supporting military families, they truly embody what it means to serve with heart.

Through our PHundraisers, themed parties, raffles, and maybe even a few well-earned hangovers, YOU—our club members and supporters—have helped us continue our mission to Party with a Purpose. Every drink poured, ticket purchased, and volunteer hour donated goes directly toward making a difference in our local community.

We may be small, but we’re mighty in spirit and impact. And this April, we raise our glasses to YOU—for helping us support these incredible local heroes and nonprofits.

As Jimmy said, “If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.” We’re grateful to have a club that knows how to laugh, love, and give generously.
