The Peppermint Bark-a-Rita
Sweet, minty, and just naughty enough to make Santa blush. 🎅🍸
When December rolls in, it’s time to ditch the eggnog and deck the bar cart with something a little more spirited. The Peppermint Bark-a-Rita is here to turn your holiday hustle into a winter wonderland of tequila and cheer, a frosty fusion of white crème de cacao, silver tequila, and crushed peppermint that proves joy really does come in liquid form. It’s the lovechild of a margarita and a candy cane, best enjoyed while wrapping presents or pretending you didn’t eat all the bark.
The Peppermint Bark-a-Rita Recipe
Serves: 2 Parrotheads, or 1 who’s snowed in and feeling festive
Ingredients:
- 2 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz white crème de cacao
- 1 oz peppermint schnapps
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz cream (or half & half for extra richness)
- Ice
Garnish:
Crushed peppermint rim, whipped cream, mini candy cane, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup (optional but highly encouraged)
Instructions:
- Crush peppermint candies or candy canes and pour onto a small plate. Rim your glasses with chocolate syrup, then dip into the crushed peppermint for that frosty, festive sparkle.
- In a shaker, combine tequila, crème de cacao, peppermint schnapps, lime juice, cream, and ice. Shake like a reindeer trying to make the nice list.
- Strain over fresh ice into your peppermint-rimmed glass.
- Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of crushed peppermint, and a mini candy cane for flair.
Parrothead Pairing Suggestions:
Soundtrack: “Christmas in the Caribbean” or “Mele Kalikimaka”
Snack: Peppermint bark, sugar cookies, or a spoonful of cookie dough, no judgment here.
Mood: Merry, mischievous, and maybe a little melted.
A Toast to December Sippers
