The Golden Hour Rita
There’s a moment at the end of a late-summer day when everything gets a little better.
The sun drops lower. The water starts sparkling. The heat finally backs off. And suddenly whatever you were supposed to be doing doesn’t seem nearly as important.
That’s Golden Hour.
And naturally, we decided it needed tequila.
What’s in the Glass
The Golden Hour Rita is bright, smooth, citrusy, and tropical, with pineapple and orange bringing that gorgeous golden color while lime keeps things firmly in margarita territory.
Ingredients
- 2 oz blanco tequila
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- ¾ oz fresh lime juice
- ½ oz orange liqueur
- ½ oz fresh orange juice
- ¼ oz agave nectar, optional
- Tajín or coarse salt for the rim
- Lime or orange wheel for garnish
- Ice
Make Some Sunshine
Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into Tajín or coarse salt.
Add tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, orange juice, and agave to a shaker filled with ice.
Shake it like you’re trying to convince September it’s still July.
Strain over fresh ice, garnish with a lime or orange wheel, and take it somewhere you can see the sky.

The Golden Hour Rita pairs exceptionally well with absolutely nowhere to be.
